The Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura), also known in some North American regions as the turkey buzzard (or just buzzard), and in some areas of the Caribbean as the John crow or carrion crow, is the most widespread of the New World vultures. One of three species in the genus Cathartes, in the family Cathartidae, the Turkey Vulture ranges from southern Canada to the southernmost tip of South America. It inhabits a variety of open and semi-open areas, including subtropical forests, shrublands, pastures, and deserts. (From Wikipedia)

Superb in-flight image of an unusual huge bird that has a lot of appeal with those massive spanning wings and great plumage details. The vulture has excellent clarity and is nicely offset in the frame so that it has room to fly into and incredible against the sky. You are quite accomplished with 200mm lens work & fast shutter for much quality and I'd say your shot has the edge, but looking at this I'm sometimes saddened by the cartoon -evil guy- perception by the general public. This creature is actually a partner for life, perhaps the human race could learn a thing or two from this much maligned birds! Suffice to say it's a cracking image, Congrats.
