Burro is the Spanish and Portuguese word for donkey. In Spanish, burros may also be called burro mexicano ('Mexican donkey'), burro criollo ('Criollo donkey'), or burro criollo mexicano. In the southwestern United States, "burro" is used as a loan word by English speakers to describe any small donkey used primarily as a pack animal, as well as to describe the feral donkeys that live in Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah, Texas and Nevada. Donkeys are nice looking animals and I quite like them. They are very rare where I live but around the Mediterranean they are still seen everywhere, but I doubt there are any wild ones in that region. It's always a joy to meet a wild animal, especially if you can come close enough to take a good and sharp picture with such a fine light as here.

A fine shot and your narrative is so helpful in understanding what it's all about. it's lonesome but so cute and photogenic little fella who also enjoyed this shot! This is great that you managed to grab him so close in the wild such a lovely creature but touching too. You did a great work there, lighting, colours and contrast are spot on. Thks for sharing. Congrats.
Best Wishes & Have A Brilliant Day Tomorrow
Happy New Year.

This wild animal, the Burro has a camouflaged color that fit the surrounding it lives, Eleu. Considered always as a stupid animal, but surprisingly it endured many years on the willows and the harsh weather in desert.
Nice taken donkey shot.

Good record, a feral donkey, yes locally called burro! maybe a young female, it looks sad and not in a perfect condition and should eat more, it's maybe because of a tapeworm. I like the dry sub desertic environment of the animal, a brillant capture, all the best Eleu, greetings
