The hot air balloon is the oldest successful human-carrying flight technology. It is part of a class of aircraft known as balloon aircraft. On November 21, 1783, in Annonay, France, the first untethered manned flight was performed by Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes in a hot air balloon created on December 14, 1782 by the Montgolfier brothers. Hot air balloons that can be propelled through the air rather than just being pushed along by the wind are known as airships or, more specifically, thermal airships. (From Wikipedia)

Dreamstime.com just sold this photo for me. The web site has sold 33 of my pictures so far, while that sounds impressive my share of the sale price is very tiny nothing to brag about. But it’s just nice to know that someone is willing to pay for my photograph. I have you all to thank for your encouragements and support.

Outstanding composition! It could be a cover for some book or magazine, for example. Excellent colourful spots on the clear blue sky. And the moon is a good bonus for this picture.

Although you have shown similar pictures before, the combination of balloons or airplanes and the moon is nearly always fascinating. At least when well done, which certainly is the case here. The perfect exposure and clarity of the colors in this well balanced composition make this a very eye-catching and appealing photo.
