The hot air balloon is the oldest successful human-carrying flight technology. It is part of a class of aircraft known as balloon aircraft. On November 21, 1783, in Annonay, France, the first untethered[1] manned flight was performed by Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes in a hot air balloon created on December 14, 1782 by the Montgolfier brothers.[2] Hot air balloons that can be propelled through the air rather than just being pushed along by the wind are known as airships or, more specifically, thermal airships. Hello Eleu,

This will de a noiseless but colorful take-off. I like the light and shadow combination in this image with well saturated colors. The sharpness is very good.

Hello Eleu - I think I might call this one 'Fly Me to the Moon'! Lovely early morning light bounces off the balloons and shows off their curves and colours beautifully. A wonderful way to see the landscape, floating almost silently above the world. Lovely shot, clean, clear and crisp. Warm regards rosemary

You're a lucky man...i have yet to really come across an opportunity to photograph hot air balloons.

I like the american one the most, the colors seem to work the best.

Marvelous sight, as the baloons were about to t/o at dawn.
Position on the edge of shaded area in picture, the sun was just up to lighten the ballons in their fabulous colors.
