Photographer's Note

The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada is an area managed by the Bureau of Land Management as part of its National Landscape Conservation System, and protected as a National Conservation Area. It is located about 15 miles (24 km) west of Las Vegas, and easily seen from the Las Vegas Strip. The area is visited by over 1 million visitors each year.

The conservation area showcases a set of large red rock formations: a set of sandstone peaks and walls called the Keystone Thrust. The walls are up to 3,000 feet (910 m) high, making them a popular hiking and rock climbing destination. The highest point is La Madre Mountain, at 8,154 feet (2,485 m). (From Wikipedia)

Hello Eleu,

This is a beautiful shot of these mountains and the menacing clouds that seem to want to swallow them. The colors give s stormy mood to the image and the sharpness is very good.

the impressive Canyon covered by clouds.Awesome view!But the clouds look also kind of "scary" and dramatic.

hi eleu,
this is a superb landscape picture. your viewpoint is excellent with some vegetation in the foreground helping to frame the scene. the mountains look incredible, and the low cloud covering parts of the peaks helps add to the mystery and grandeur of the image.

Very atmospheric shot, in the middle of nowhere and the raging storm but a geoligic haven of sculptured rocks and canyons loved by artist and shutterbugs. I think this is a pretty rare occurrence here so you are pretty lucky to catch this and nicely splitting this shot 50/50 perfectly showing both sections, how dramatic the sky was that day. Great light and natural colors indeed even when there's brooding skies overhead and it's almost guaranteed that there's gonna be some more drama once the sun dips below the cloud cover. Nice one, Eleu, Congrats. :))
