Photographer’s Note
... as it's no danger to deplete it :-)
This is an aerial image taken during a flight from San Francisco. Actually, the location is just a guess, based on the time since takeoff - if anybody could point what this is I would appreciate. It is one of the many salt basins seen in Nevada and Utah. Unfortunately I was above the clouds in the Great Salt Lake area, so this was the largest salt pond I've seen.
I had to boost the contrast because of the dull desert colors, also some sharpening, no other PP. Any suggestions or comments appreciated.

Hi Catalin,
Impressive desert scene. There's lots of details on that landscape with a salt pan, dry creeks and mountain range. Your PP is quite appropriate, shots like these almost always need some contrast boost. I think colour balance is a bit on brown side, but as I've never been there maybe it really looked like that.

It is very hard to help you identify the location of this salt basin as the color is a little different. This is a good capture of probaby part of the salt lake in Utah, but it is more white than this.
thank you for your comments on my photo,"La Defense". I appreciate it.

Hi Catalin
Don't worry, I know where it is! This is the second crater to the left from the north pole of the Mars.
The place is really amazing and I love the photo.
cheers

Aerial shots are quite challenging and I never was able to get some real satisfactory results, although my pictures from overflying Groenland are very interesting but by far not the same quality as this here. I cannot help you in giving you a precise localization, but who cares? The vast plain against the mountains is gorgeous.
Kind Regards, Peter

Very interesting to see this salt pond, a real geological curiosity. Colors are a bit faded but the very black mountain in the background makes a nice contrast.
All the best,
Emmanuel
