The bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) is a species of sheep in North America named for its large horns. These horns can weigh up to 30 lb (14 kg), while the sheep themselves weigh up to 300 lb (140 kg). Recent genetic testing indicates three distinct subspecies of Ovis canadensis, one of which is endangered: O. c. sierrae. Sheep originally crossed to North America over the Bering land bridge from Siberia: the population in North America peaked in the millions, and the bighorn sheep entered into the mythology of Native Americans. Now I know where the LA Rams went!?
A fine up close candid of this elegant animal.
Because of gun nuts shooting them for fun and their horns they are becoming rarer and rarer.

This is awesome shot of the bighorn sheep.Immaculate timing and sharpness here.Just a wee bit cropping could have done wonders to the composition. Absolutely terrific.Sorry somehow the points are missing although I have not posted more than 20 as yet. TFS.

A good picture of this animal but I think the best parts here are the stunning colours of the background mountains and the fine composition of the picture with the tree.
