A steam locomotive is a railway locomotive that produces its power through a steam engine. These locomotives are fueled by burning some combustible material, usually coal, wood or oil, to produce steam in a boiler, which drives the steam engine. Both fuel and water supplies are carried with the locomotive, either on the locomotive itself or in wagons pulled behind. Steam locomotives were first developed in Britain and dominated railway transportation until the middle of the 20th century. From the early 1900s they were gradually superseded by electric and diesel locomotives. (From Wikipedia)

I adore a steam engine's as we do not have them here in Israel, Eleu, most magnificent powerful old machine.
Seeing it's puffinh smoke I believe it was running, which should be an enlighting experience.

Hi Elue
The iron horse, remember the western movie, a rare upload and go West Elue! The subject is great, steam loco is always fascinating to view. A lovely capture taking the shot right out of the comfy zone and into something rather special. The nice weather makes the smokes more visible than normal and gives it a fluffy appearance whilst at the same time bringing out the rich colour of the her livery and no loss of detail in her appearence, in particular love the glossy copper linings and the wheels there. Lovely feel that works so well and the toning gives it a times past effect -minus your car, and the sense of movements here as if the driver has full boiler pressure and hence maximum tractive effort moving the train. It's a pleasure to see this wonderful faithfull horse so lovingly cared. Well done TFS, Great effort.

Hello, Good train photo. Very sharp and clear from your exposure choice. I wish the car and red cone were not in the photo so perhaps a little cropping would have been beneficial.
