Photographer’s Note

C’est un état du Nord-Ouest américain, frontalier du Canada, aussi grand que l’Allemagne ou que les 2/3 de la France mais à peine peuplé de 1 million d’habitants, ce qui en fait avec l'Alaska et le Wyoming l'un des États des États-Unis ayant la plus faible densité de population. A peu près 75 % de ses habitants sont des ruraux.
Le slogan de cet état est « The Big Sky state », une appellation totalement justifiée visuellement. "Au milieu y coule une rivière" et on y trouve des "hommes qui murmurent à l’oreille des chevaux", nous dirait Robert Redford.
Nous sommes au Montana !!

Un tout bon cadrage qui met en valeurs ses rouleaux bien rangés. L'orage viendra t'il ? On voit bien la progression depuis le D100 (bruit dans le ciel)

Au niveau emmerdes on va dire que c'est fini, mais il reste la préparation du déménagement prochain

Beautiful large clouds dominating the landscape, wispy and fluffy. Love that row of yellowish hay all in such a neat arrangemnet.

Bonjour Patrick

Attirée par ce ciel incroyable et ce nuage puissant, je n'ai pas deviné pas tout de suite qu'il s'agissait de bottes de paille en regardant la vignette... C'est donc la cerise sur le gâteau en les découvrant !
La magnifique lumière donne un beau jaune éclatant qui fonctionne à merveille contre ce dégradé de bleu.
Quant au cadrage, excellent bien sûr. La place est judicieusement laissée au ciel menaçant, lui rendant toute sa puissance.
Déjà du beau travail à l'époque ;o)

Bravo pour cette composition simple et efficace! Le ciel menacant et fabuleux contrastant avec les rouleaux alignés donne une impression des vastes plaines.

Hello Patrick,

This is a 'cracker'!
Often the sky is overlooked in many fine shots but here, you have really exploited it to maximum effect! The contrasting clouds against the azure blue sky are fantastic!
Coupled with the minimalistic, but also texturally fine hay field, it is a great composition! Bravo!

Hi Patrick,

I love these huge clouds, especially when they are impressive like this one. The shower is full open and the rain is falling heavy while in front the sun is still shining...nice, very nice, because you also included a nice forground.

Hi Patrick:

As Montanan as it comes. Big Sky was the right choice here. The only way you could make it even more Montanan would be if you had the Rockies in the background. :) This is good work, particularly those wonderful bales and the clouds in the background. I think the blue is a bit pastel-ish, however, and the image has a lot of noise. But that's all I have to complain about. The composition is fantastic and the subject beautiful.

I am a big fan of clouds, and am often fascinated with my eye focused on the sky. Great storm cloud here, it's a beauty, with a wonderful foreground. Good notes too.....I really like Montana myself! Nice work, regards,

Superbes ces gros nuage tout blancs avec ce coin de ciel menaçant dans l'angle droit. L'alignement de ces gros rouleaux dorés forme un contraste parfait.

The sky is impressive but i also like of the aligned cereals.The contrast between the linear (cereals) and the random clouds create a beautiful effect.

While i refrain from commenting on the cloud patterns..this one did catch my eye simply beacuse of the sense of minimalism..the rolled up fibre which has been intelligently used to create an unusual appeal..

Well dont my friend..even as the clouds droop to touch the ground..there seems a connection worth appreciating..nature does complement and connect !

A great shot here of this spectacular sky with the hay bales neatly arranged in the foreground. This is a great Montana shot and truly shows why they call this The Big Sky State! Just really wonderful composition.
