Photographer’s Note
As I mention before, I’m not a morning person and I miss out a lot of wonderful light in the dawn of the day. When I travel, especially in natural environment, I do try my very best to drag myself out of the warm bed as early as I can to catch the magic light at the break of dawn where everything seems to come alive with the first lay of the sun. Here is another morning shot of Swiftcurrent Lake at Many Glacier Hotel Lodge.
With its alpine glaciers, jagged peaks, teeming wildlife, lakes, lush forests, wildflowers, and many waterfalls, Glacier National Park is often referred to as "North America's Crown Jewel". One of the Glacier National Park's crown jewels is the fabulous Many Glacier region, where the photo is taken, just outside of the Many Glacier Hotel Lodge. In the front is Swiftcurrent Lake with its wonderful vista of the Lewis Range.
Thanks for looking in and enjoy.
For a large panoramic view of the same area see my previous post

Hello Way,
I too share your enthusiasm for staying between the sheets, but in this case an early rise was certainly rewarded.
A beautiful capture my friend, the vertical frame suits the landscape perfectly.
The composition is wonderful but it is the POV across the water and reflected mountains that creates the magic in this image.
Superb presentation.

Hello Way,
I think you should get your skinny behind up more often and capture first light! This is a remarkable image with the blue light and atmosphere. The scene is beautiful and well worth waking up with a smile and not a growl as I imagine you do, as I ,st times.
Excellent Shot here...

Hello Way,
Between your photos and the ones of Floydian, we have a great serie about the mountain lakes of north america.
Good framing with the shore in foreground and the cliffs in background giving the limits and the lake in between being a mirror of the sky colors.

Hi Way,
Another beauty from Glacier. It's because of your pictures that throws the thought of going back there one day and do it all over again. I had terrible weather there, but seeing this it also shows how beautiful it can be when there is clear weather. A great view, with very good contrast and reflecting light in the water...

Hi, Way.
While fully retaining your very own style, of all the people on this site you're the one that gets the closest to Floydian. Which means you play now in the Biggest Possible League. Masterful shot, what else could I possibly say... it speaks volumes about your skills. Perfect framing, perfect light management, terrific atmosphere, TFS! Have a great day, buddy. I'll be seeing you,
Fulvio.

Hello Way
I am alive and kicking, been busy with other stuff at the moment, photography and TE has had to take a back seat for a while, taking a trek to the thermal pools this weekend near Rotorua, so hopefully I may have some new shots next week.
Anyway back to this picture, beautiful blue tones throughout and the slight warmness in the lake and sky is beautiful, like pastel colours. You have pulled excellent detail in the trees, we missed Montana, pretty gutted really but it gives us a reason to go back to USA some point.
All the best Way, see you soon. Good luck with the new president and all that.
Cheers
Jim

Hi Way, Splendid pohoto of the Glacier NP. We were not so lucky and had not such a weather. I liked it but was a bit disappointed. there were no reflections in the lakes. Splendid rocks and beautiful light. Wonderful vista indeed.

Hi Way:
Wonderful soft light here, and I quite like the composition, with Mt. Gould's imposing face in the background. Swiftcurrent Lake was probably my favorite area of Glacier--it's such an incredibly beautiful region. Hopefully you're starting to see the benefits of waking up early. ;)

Hello Way! This is a picture to dive in and never go back to work again :))) I am glad that you did NOT sleep in, although, many times, this is SO tempting but you know, no such sights if you sleep until 12 ... LOL. Here I really like the "fluffy" blues (especially in the sky) and the rosy tones in the sky and lake ... oh dear, what a beauty, I have nothing comparable, an almost empty tank with lots of nices ... Excellent ... Have a nice day ... no sleeping in !!!! Barbara.

I also find it difficult to get out of bed at 5am for sunrise but accept to do so brings rewards. (In summer dawn is before 4am in the UK so it's probably not worth going to bed if you need to drive far) This is a wonderful shot in the early light. The best bit is the wonderful reflections in the lake, more than justifying the vertical framing.

Hello Way
At least, you did not have to go far to get this picture.
Good composition with the small part of the rocky shore taking us to the greener section and finaly to the mountain. The reflexion of the clouds in the water offers us the hint of this first light.
Have a good day

Bonjour,
dommage que les montagnes soient légérement bleutées. Cela enlève un peu de naturel à cette scène.
Sinon, le reste est vraiment naturel et séduisant dans cette vue pleine de profondeur et de netteté.
Regards
Daniel.
