Photographer’s Note
I believe that this is a Yellow Headed Blackbird. I spent some time on this day at the edge of a pond surrounded by thick marsh grass. As I watched a variety of ducks, geese and other birds came and went. I have never seen one of these guys before, so I was happy to get a couple shots. Their yellow heads were quite brighly contrasted agains their black bodies, while the colors ranged from yellow to orange.

Hello Ned,
Very nice wildlife photo. I like your composition. This is an excellent environmental portrait of this bird in his habitat. This photo would look very nice framed. This is both a fine-art and documentary photo. I have done some wildlife photography and I know that photographing birds is not as easy as some people think it is. Well done!

Ned, terrific photo, great use of DOF, especially nice is that he seems to be unperturbed by your presence. Good capture.
