Photographer’s Note
When I saw this place, I kept thinking, "American Gothic" all it needed was a farmer with his pitch fork.
Nampa is a suburb of Boise, and has some rather sophisticated neighborhoods. This barn just seem rather out of place, like something from a cartoon. (I love Nampa and the area, I'm not trying to be negative.)
Just a little bit of what is left of Americana.
I wish I had a longer lens to reduce the dimensionality, but at the time, no luck 70mm was it. I used a polarizer to try and remove some reflections and help saturate the red.

Dana I got back from the prairies two weeks ago and saw many old deserted barns laid across the land. This barn shape is really attractive and I like how you framed this one in this tight....only I think I would have given a little more room to breathe around this barn in the frame. The curved roof is very nice in this setting. Yes a farmer with his pitchfork would have completed it. Nice work and thanks for sharing!

Great title and capture, Dana. You tell a story of both beauty and advancing age, as this barn shows its well-worn face. I really like the detail, the rich red, and the way you caught the left side of the image. Nicely composed.

Like the idea but would like to see the top of the building. Or you could clone it out easily enough and then I wouldn't even know it was cut off.
