Photographer’s Note
I have always heard nice things about Northern Idaho. It is a nice area, as you can see here. This is Lake Pend Oreille in the town of Sandpoint. The lake is neither warm nor cold. But it is halfway between here and Grandpa's house.
One of the nicest things about Sandopint is it is a pedestrian-friendly town. Signs announce it on the way into town. But you don't really appreciate it until you are walking around, and everyone stops, even before you get into a crosswalk. There are also a couple of nice restaurants in town. My favorite is a Thai place.
Full frame. PP consisted only of a contrast adjustment and a sharpen.

Hey Mike,
Nice capture of the beach.... I know this place well. I can't say that I've ever seen this large number of gulls in one spot though. Nice catch!
I live in Bonners Ferry, but work in Sandpoint. Funny you should mention the "pedestrian" signs. :) People stop because the police have launched a massive attack on the locals by ticketing anyone who doesn't stop for pedestrians!!! I don't just mean pedestrians in crosswalks, but if there's a pedestrian walking down the side walk and he might be THINKING about crossing and you don't stop......BAM!!!! Big fine! :) The Thai place is indeed great eats! :) Glad you enjoyed our little town on the lake.
Cheers,
Mo
