In 1906 John E. Tourtellote a Connecticut native and architect Charles Hummel a German immigrant started constructing the Idaho State Capitol in Boise. The Capitol was not finished until 1920. The center dome is perhaps its major attraction with a bronze eagle on top. The building is 208 feet high, and has over 50,000 square feet of artistically carved marble with 219 pillars either Doric, Corinthian or Ionic columns.
The interior is spectacular with numerous classical art designs.
Also note the Idaho Capitol's similarity to the Washington D.C. federal structure.

I see different flags half-mast, I don't know what there is reason.
Real a nice building, splendid Capitol with a wonderful architecture.
We get on these way a nice perspective and depth picture.
Excellent composition, nice captured, and lovely presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,

I love this, an imposing and grand building, so fitting for its position as state Capitol, and it does look so much the one in Wasshington. The dome is really huge, but perfectly in proportion to the rest of the structure. Your point of view is ideal taking in the whole building from a great low vantage point, and with no people! I guess this may have been early morning to have no humans present? Even the sky played along nicely to create this fine architectural shot, nicely done. I find long buildings like this difficult to capture well, you did this perfectly.
All the best

I think I don't have a time for visit Idaho, so thanks for this interesting report from Boise. Excellent combination of the sandy building and so blue sky. Fine details. I see here a impressive influence of Greek-Roman style in architecture.
Greetings from Arizona!

This is an imposing building.
It seems like the Congreso Nacional building of Buenos Aires.

A nice documentary photo of the building. I like the four yellow ribbons on the columns of the entrance. It looks like the the flags are at half-mast, was this around Sept. 11?
Is this all one shot or a panoramic stitching?
