Photographer's Note
The road from Jackson Hole in Wyoming to West Yellowstone in Montana first goes over the Teton Pass at 8,431 feet and then into Idaho and the Targhee National Forest. The road conditions in winter can be severe. Fortunately the snow ploughs kept the road open after a very bad winter storm in the North-West.
Photo edited on an old version of PSE and on a very small laptop - hope it looks O.K.
Apologies for not critiquing much for a couple of weeks but my time on the internet is short each day.

Hi Ann,
impressive snowstorm, I have rarely found in these situations, queued behind the plow, but never with a snowstorm so intense, beautiful framing,
have a good time,
greeting from Jaipur,

Hello Ann,
This is a great snow scene. The yellow blade of the plow jumps out against the white surroundings, and I like the way there is a string of vehicles behind it, and their headlights gradually get more obscured in the distance. The snow-covered trees are beautiful, too. Where were you when you took this photo?? I suppose that if you were inside a vehicle, the window would have been covered in snow.

Hi, Ann,
This is very familiar scene for me.
Frankly speaking I went to my work by walk, without a car. We have got -30 C today.
Good report from the roads of Idaho. TFS!

Serghei

Hello Ann. A beautiful picture of the winter. The slight fog and the lights of the cars make the image full of atmosphere. well seen and realized. Here in the middle of Germany, everything looks more like spring. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Hello Ann
A great picture!
A real snow storm captured well.I like the headlights of the vehicles following the plough - makes it look eerie.I wonder where you were placed to get this shot?
Best Wishes Gladys

Hi Ann,
so you went to the States. I wondered what was the cause of your absence. The road conditions are rather tough here. It looks O.K. on this very small laptop :P. winter can be so picturesque. Not this year near Warsaw..

Hi Ann
it's not Yellowstone but Whitestone!
Good winter atmosphere, but it's better to be behind a laptop than in the car, because you don't know if it will be possible to continue.
Cross fingers!

Hi Ann,
A very impresive snow scene indeed and it looks to me as though the North Americans are very organised to deal with this sort of weather - unlike the chaos we see here when there's a few flakes of snow.
A fine composition with the dominant snow plough and its bright yellow plough blade stalwartly pushing on through a blizzard with a nice and neat following of cars and trucks behind it. The tracks on the roadway make a fine lead-in and the distant headlamps take our view into the distance, all against a wonderful backdrop of beautiful snow clad conifers.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. Hope you're well wrapped up in your woollies and enjoying the Yellostone experience!
P.P.S. An excellent photograph despite an old version of PSE - I guess that this was from a JPEG as PSE5 won't convert RAW files from your 7D?

Hi Ann,
We have a lot of problems because of the snow these days so a truck like this is always welcomed. Nice scene, well captured.

Hi Ann,
bellissimo contrasto cromatico tra automezzi (che rendono la scena dinamica) e grigiore generale dato dalla nebbia e dalla neve che cancellano ogni colore.
Well done and TFS!

Hi Ann
Impressive view of this road under strong weather conditions. I like the global white tone, the blured cars behind the truck and how the yellow stands out the white on the foreground

Hello Ann- I see that you too are on the gad-about. A great winter capture, full of atmosphere with the driving snow and procession of headlights growing ever more dim as the line of vehicles recedes into the distance. Well captured, enjoy your hols. Rosemary

Hi Ann,
A very fine documentary pic with lotsa action. The only colours in the frame are those of the plough. Together with the leading lines formed by the tracks in the snow ,they propel the storytelling in a very nicely graphic way here. Beautiful work!
And thank you very much for your kind words about my gallery!
Best regards from Rotterdam,
Bert

Hello Ann,the almost monochrome image exudes the wintry scene pretty well, the yellow and red bringing some nice dynamics.
The snow plough is perfectly placed.
Gladys was looking forward to the snow were promised yesterday however it soon turned to rain, just wet and cold!

Hello dear Ann
Winter shows its teeth, and in your area.
Time is not that much comfortable, but the photo is beautiful.
These colors from a truck on a white background write a story.
Fantastic composition.

This one of that we could "fake" using desaturation in all but the "yellows"..
Not the case.
Superb.

Hello Ann! These high passes, I was always thinking how you could go over them during winter. During summer it always looks funny when you see the large parking areas sign-posted as "chain areas" but I guess they do make a lot of sense :))) A very attractive shot showing winter from another side and that you should never forget your snow chains at home ... Best wishes, Barbara.
