[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another kind of surfing done in Hawaii is kite surfing. Surfers tether themselves to these huge kites and let the wind pull them along the waves. It looks difficult, but lessons can be had. At Kahului the skly is full of colourful these kites. Later I'll post one in the air.
The atmosphere was very hazy, almost obscuring Maui's volcanic mountains in the background. They call this kind of haze "vog" or volcanic fog. After a few days the trade winds blow away the vog and we can see the m muntains again.
