Photographer’s Note
We spent 2 weeks on Oahu in September, based in Waikiki. We thought the sea colour there was incredible, but little did we realise what we would see elsewhere on the island.
We actually ended up in Kailua by pure chance as we were simply looking for a place for lunch. When we parked up we couldn't actually see the sea and beach because of a small embankment. When we walked up the embankment we were met by this totally jaw dropping view of impossibly white sand and multi-hued blue sea. I don't think any picture can possibly do true justice to the view, but hopefully this image will give some sense of what we saw.
For such a beautiful location I was surprised at just how quiet the beach was. This view is typical of just how few people were around, although admittedly it was early afternoon on a week day.

I thought from the thumbnail United States?? Now I see - of course Hawaii! You have captured a piece of Paradise in this photo. Good to capture the people walking into view.

Good capture of a beautiful beach. The colour of the sand, sea and sky come together well. Position of men walking adds interest withouT distraction. Well done.
