Photographer’s Note
Those who hike to the 760 ft summit of Diamond Head will be rewarded with spectacular 360 degree views - including Waikiki Beach and the Diamond Head Lighthouse.
It is recommended to allow an hour to walk up and 30 minutes down. You enter the extinct crater via a tunnel through the crater rim and then ascend from inside the crater. The walk begins with a series of switchback trails (as shown). Then follows 76 steps, a 225 ft WWII tunnel, 99 steps, another tunnel, a spiral staircase, a Fire Control Station Lookout and lastly 54 metal steps take you to the Observation Station.
Definitely worth the effort - but don't forget your sneakers, a bottle of water, hat, suntan lotion and of course your camera.

Hello Marlene,
to me, this photo looks like a curious jigsaw puzzle! people here, people there... bushes, rocks... diagonal lines...
Interesting Note and a very lovely view in the WS photo!
I'm VERY unlikely to ever go to Hawaii, so thanks for the photos :)
Kind regards,
Elena

Hello Marlene,
To me, this is not a jigsaw puzzle but a game of snakes and ladders! Some people at the bottom must have stepped on a snake on their way up. It's an interesting view and a nicely cropped picture, accompanied by a good note.
Regards,
Gert
