| It's quite a drive from the popular vacation spot of Kailua-Kona to Hilo on the Big Island, but definitely worth the trip. From the dry Kona side, to the desert-like southern tip, to the Mars-like volcano stretch, to the extremely lush Hilo side, there's a lot you can miss on the drive. Hilo is a very old Hawai'ian town, and it shows in the buildings. A very cool trip worth a day of your vacation. I want to say this is one of the rainiest spots in the United States, along with most of Kauai... |
