The magnificent Kilauea creating new land daily on the south end of the Big Island of Hawai'i. Every person in their lifetime needs to see the unbelievable sight of a live volcano erupting and the after-effects of the land created. Once the sun sets over the beautiful waters of Hawai'i, the sight is even more impressive as the bright red glow of molten lava shows itself in the hillsides of Kilauea south. ENJOY!!!

That is truely impressive. I have seen smoke illuminated by lava aswell(check my gallery for "fire in the sky") and you are definitely right that everybody should see that once in a lifetime.
Concerning your shot: I just imagined a steam engine under the surface of the ocean and had to laugh. I really like your shot. Just look at the beautiful contrast between the black sand (btw: freakin hot in the sun) and the white steam. The steam itself is sharp and clear... Good quality!
Well done,
Andreas
