Picture taken in the National Park Volcano in Hawaii, on Big Island. The lava of the volcano Kilauea is visible after approximately 1h30 of walk through old lava flows. It is necessary to leave during the sunset in order to arrive there when it starts to be dark. it is at this time that the shows starts. Not to forget a flashlight for the return in the middle of the night!

Ce cliché est superbe félicitations Pascal.

Pascal,
Nice shot but i think either the focus is off or you had a little shake with the zoom lens. Not sure if you used a tripod but this would have solved the sake problem. Still a really nice photo and love the title. Matches the photo perfectly.
Cheers
Peter

Absolutely unusual shot!. For north-Europens quite exotic. Well done.

Wow, Incredible. Its amazing how close you can get to that red hot lava. I love the colours in this photo. Intriguing explaination of the site Good job!

Salut Pascal,
Impressionnante photo, bien vu ce plan rapproché, la forme arrondie à droite est superbe.

Bravo, nice picture. Very sharp and vivid picture.

Superbe gros plan sur cette lave, c'est très esthétique et les couleurs claquent !
Bravo

Pascal,
Your picture is good but not so original. Why didn't you go closer to the subject ? Was it really hot ? I think that on such a subject it was possible to make "the" photo, like seen in the National Geographic Magazine. Unfortunately you missed it for this time. Don't be disappointed, you'll get it next time !!!
I agree with PeterC, don't forget the tripod on your next holiday.
Cheers
Christian

Amazing shot. How is it possible to get so close to lava? Beautiful colors. Regards, Yvonne

thanks for bringing back memories of this sight. i have seen this myself in 1994 and was kinda afraid to get nearer it, hence no souvenir fotos. mother nature can be so frightful!
