This is a view of Hanauma Bay on the beautiful island of O`ahu. Hanauma Bay Nature Park is one of the more popular recreational swimming, snorkeling and picnicing areas on the island. The bay itself is legally designated as a State Underwater Park and Conservation District. The bay is the result of the ocean's breaching and incursion into two volcano craters. This most beautiful of places is ideal - if you are a new SCUBA diver or snorkeler; and - just for swimming. There are hiking trails with very pretty vistas and the park areas have good picnicking sites.
My husband and I went there on the 2nd day of our honeymoon in Hawaii. At that time we were able to take frozen peas and corn to feed to the hundreds of fish that live in the bay. I understand from friends who have visited recently that frozen vegetables are no longer allowed as it disturbs the natural environment, understandably. It was some of the most amazing snorkeling I have ever done.
The photo was scanned. Levels and curves were adjusted. The photo has this silly name because the people on the beach look so small, and so that I could add it to the movie names theme! |

Silly name indeed, but very well chosen, Alli.
Well, the pix has some deficiences due to the date taken and scanning process. However, the POV is great and the place looks like a paradise. I have no doubt that you both had a very good time over there.
Best wishes,
Celso
Very cool view point. The palm fronds are so cool in the foreground just pointing the eyes to the tiny people and the blue waters. Well done with the scanning too.
Hello Alli,
Is my first critique because there are so many members and visions that sometime we have no critiques to give, time and personal and objectiv point of view. So my excuses, have a nice stay at TE and don't mind with my simple words that are a communicating introduction to your great work and a future sharing of posts and comments.
I like the way you capture this scenery. Nice tones colors, effective composition, light management and a sensible pastel result like painting.
Very well done and composed!
Best to you.
Fernando

Hi.
Nice view for this very interesting place. The composition is well balanced and if the light wasn't visibly optimal, you've managed to capture it relatively well. Thanks for sharing !
I've been there. This is a great shot.. it really shows the paradise that Hawaii is thought to be.
