| Another shot from the Haleakala Volcanic Park. A volcanic eruption is destructive but this sight in Haleakala is a sight to behold. A witness to intense volcanic eruption millions of years back the hills are formed out of solidifed magma high in iron content which impart the red glazy look to them. Wind-erosion since then has smoothened the fills giving them a round smooth finish and a wavy appearance of the valleys around them as if floating on an ocean ... |

Arunabha,
This is a great POV. I like the play of colors and the different textures. As a geologist, I've promised myself to visit Hawaii some day. It hasn't happened yet, but I will go there some day. Richard
Hi Arunabha,
First of all I wish to say I liked your intro note. You expressed some of my feelings exactly...TE is a great place to see and behold. The scene here in your image is indeed amazing and you get an inkling of what the earth may have looked like in its beginning. The quality is note so good...rather too much noise.See you again...keep well.
Regards, David
