[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in the wet mountain valley in southern Colorado. The mountains are the Sangre De Cristos and are an example of a Fault Block mountain range, it travels in a narrow band about 10 miles from the eastern base to the western base, from Poncha Pass Colorado in the northern end to Glorieta Pass in New Mexico on it's southern end. it contains several 14,000 foot peaks (4281 meters+) all of which are located in Colorado and all of New Mexico's 13,000 foot peaks. This section is part of the Northern Sangre De Cristos. Humboldt Peak on the far left at 14064 feet (4300 meters) right of that is Crestone Needle an extremely massive and difficult spire at 14197 feet (4341 meters) and the prominent rounded summit in the center is Colony Baldy at 13700 feet (4189 meters) and in the clouds on the right is Kit Carson Peak and Challenger Point at 14165 feet (4331 meters) and 14,080 feet (4305 meters).

At this part of the range the mountains rise up nearly 7000 feet (2140 meters) above it's surrounding valleys

Hello Paul!
I lived in Colorado in 1982/1983 as an exchange student. I visited most of this state, including this mountain range!
Seeing your pictures transports me back to those old times and you have capture them so wonderfully!
Thanks for sharing!

Bonjour Paul
Une belle variation de couleurs de la plaine à la montagne en passant par la neige et le bleu du ciel.
