A small town between Durango & Mesa Verde in south western Colorado. The Hotel here, the shadow of which you can see in the fg, had great home-made pizza & microbrews.
The Town of Dolores is a Statutory Town in Montezuma County, Colorado, United States. The population was 857 at the 2000 census. It is one of three incorporated municipalities in the county.
"Dolores (Spanish for "sorrow" and named for the river on which it is located) is located at the mouth of the Dolores Valley and the upper reaches of McPhee Reservoir, approximately 40 miles from the Four Corners Monument. Established as a station on the Rio Grande Southern Railway, it replaced the earlier town, Big Bend, now covered by McPhee Reservoir. McPhee Reservoir is named for a company town founded by New Mexico Lumber Company, that is now covered by the reservoir. Five minutes from McPhee is Moser Farms located at Hilltop Ranch."

Looks a pleasant enough town with the old tree on the street corner. The big cloud across the hilltop creates a nice mood in the empty street. Good colours and sharpness.

Une image lumineuse, un bon angle pour nous faire voir les deux côtés de cette construction colorée.
Merci pour le partage et bonne soirée.

You know, a year ago we drove between Durango and Shiprock along US 160 (October 16, 2008). So we must have passed this town, I´m quite sure about that. But I can´t say I recognize it and furthermore, I can´t find these buildings on Google Maps either. There are splendid street views from every street of Mancos (although taken in wintertime) but I can´t see this view there either. Do you have the geocodes or the street names?
But your photo is very good, with strong colours too!

Agréable composition, colorée, avec POV bien choisi permettant de voir deux rues à la fois et une bonne incrustation de l'arbre sur le c^^oté de l'image.
Ciao mon Ami ;o)

The 3/4 point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of two sides of the hotel. The mountains is framing well the hotel. The nice blue sky is sending a light which has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Wonderful example of western U.S.architecture giving us a look at the front and side of the stately old hotel.
The blue sky and rugged hills makes a very interesting backdrop for this fine image.

très impressionnant ce nuage, il est la vedette à lui tout seul, de cette composition bien contrastée et bien cadrée.
D'excellentes lumières et un ciel bien bleu.

Light, clearness and colors are remarkable. A good framing which lets see that the city is small and close to nature. Good composition, excellent realization.
Have a nice day

I like the andrew wyeth quality of this image... I like the thoughtful and artistic composition and timelessness.
Small issue though... I think the background shadowed hills were burned in too much and have an peculiar color/resolution, deep shadowed hills could have been a nice counter-balance for the large foreground shadow form.

The tree is very old, the clouds and shadow are very large, a lots of vision attractions, nice old American architectures, thanks for showing us a beautiful old town.
