Photographer’s Note
A Rodeo is not only competing with the horses and how fast the cowboys can swing the ropes but it is also a social event where people share a moment with each other outside the arena, exchanging the latest gossip maybe and drinking a beer or even two ... having a little fun after a week of hard work at the Ranch.
After my Horse whisperer(s) another impression of the weekly Fruita Rodeo. You girls went wild with so many men in my last photo :)))) Time to calm you down … LOL … bringing up something more “decent”, family orientated. Just kidding, I enjoyed your comments a lot, so much fun.

Hello Barbara -
Yup, this is an afternoon in Colorado, a beer in hand and talking to friends and family. Nice observation.
Thank you for sharing and reminding me what I am missing that I now live in California.

Hallo Barbara,

We always think of Rodeo riders to be big butch macho men. Here you show a softer side to them as they take a break with their family. This is an excellent candid shot with the typically arid Cowboy country background and great quality.

Hi Barbara, something more "wholesome" and family-orientated - how funny. There's still a nice bit of "eye-candy" for us and we get to see these lovely people in their natural habitat. Nice Daily Life shot. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for sharing this with us, Lisa.

Hi Barbara,
Wonderful daily life scene.
Great clarity. Good framing.
You have captured the moment perfectly.
Cowboy hats, boot scootin boots & pickup trucks - can't get much more USA than that partner :)
Warm regards,
Graham.

Hello,
Superbe image, viviante et coloré, une belle scène de pose, dans le désert, on mange on boit, fantastique, il y a une antenne noire qui tombe droit sur la têt, génial.
Bravo et amitié

Liebe Barbara,
"just hanging out"! Eine typische Szene aus dem Westen, gut gesehen. Die dunkelhaarige Dame erzählt wohl was spannendes.... ;-)
Schönen Abend und eine gute Woche! Liebe Grüße

Hi Barbara,
I really like the un-posed naturalness of this work; it is SO true. There is just something about guys and their trucks.

Hello Barbara,
Yep, I'm back home now, so fast but I felt like I have been away for a long time. My legs are okay, my knee still hurt. No, I didn't come back up on a mule or a donkey :). It's a great trip with a little drama with rental car, broken tire and ....stuff. Weather was mostly good. Some rain when I passed through Bryce but I have been there many times so it didn't really matter.
Trying to catch up with everyone. Now about this photo, I like it, as you said many events here in the States is more about the gathering with friends and family than the actual even itself. I was at a baseball game many years ago when I didn’t know much about the game yet I had a blast, with the hot dogs and pop corns and drinks. And it is a great place to watch people.
This image shows us the moment after the event where family and friends share a little quiet and intimate time. This show and depict another way of life in the U.S.
Have a good week.

Hi, Barbara,
An interesting question... What do 21st century cowboys love more: their horses? or their trucks? (I'm guessing the latter.)
This photo depicts a scene that is familiar to those of us who live in the western US.
I like the clarity of your presentation.
I also like the way that the composition draws our eye right into the center of this group of people: the trucks push us that way with their open tailgates and the woman on the left keeps us from wandering too far away.
Finally, I like the white hat and black hat contrast. In cowboy lore, the contrast represents the "good guy - bad guy" tension, which can also be seen as the western version of yin and yang.
Regards,
- William
ps: I also note that your score today is "7777". How lucky!

ciao Barbara,
ottimo scatto in perfetto "american style"...
Mi piacciono molto questo genere di immagini forse perche' appartengo ad una generazione molto vicina a cowboys e film americani.
un caro saluto

Hi Barbara,
Very warm shot of these western folks gathering in such a casual informative way.
Love the sagebrush desert hill backdrop.
