Photographer’s Note
My very first shot of 'Spruce Tree House' which are Pueblo Indian ruins underneath the cave arch overhang, in Mesa Verde National Park. They date from 1200 to 1300 ad, when a combination of a 300 year long mega drought & the arrival of the Navaho Indians effectively ended this unique civilization. The inhabitants would reach the plateau above using ropes & ladders to farm corn, & descend into the valley for permanent springwater. If you look carefully, you'll see the last of the tourists permitted to visit for the day.

Hello Chris,
A good capture of this interesting landscape; the foreground bushes create a nice feeling of depth. Wonderful tonal contrasts between the greens of the surrounding vegetation and the reds of the earth., topped by a pale blue sky.

Hi Chris.
We are near neighbours on the gallery page today!
This photo is so well exposed and sharp that it allows one to see clearly the pueblo ruins below the lip of the cave. Very good adaptation to the environment, reminding me of Coober Pedy. Thanks for the interesting note.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Chris,
The place is huge and looks a little dry. The caves should be fresher and protective. Excellent capture, good well contrasted colors, great sharpness.
Greetings

Hi Chris,
The trees are framing well the ruins. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the ruins. It is also taking our eyes toward the trees in the background which is giving depth to the composition. The colors are enhanced by the good luminosity. Have a nice day.

I have almost this exact shot in my album, but not on TE. Good use of the tree on the left to frame the view of the house. If we look carefully we can see some tiny people which are even better for scale.

Hello Chris,
This exceptional site is judiciously emphasized in this American wild landscape. I like much the harmony of the colors and this good clearness which gives relief to your photograph. Pretty glance and thank you for the interesting comment accompanying the image.
With all my friendships and very good Sunday,
Jean-Charles
