This is again taken in Colorado National Monument. We can see Independence Monument in the center of the picture. At one time there was a solid canyon wall present and two distinct canyons existed. You can see the outskirts of Grand Junction, Colorado. The tall features in the distance are the Book Cliffs. Again this was taken around noon. This shot will conclude our visit to Grand Junction.

Hey, Steve, No wonder you keep all your recent photo not posted, you have plenty of nice photos in storage.
This is another great view of the canyon. It looks like a risky place hiking to the bottom of this canyon. If anyone kick a rock, the rock would be all the way to the bottom.
An excellent view and a excellent center piece. A very well composed and well taken picture. Well done.

Hi, Steven, terrific shot. You have quite an inventory. I love the sharpness, the clarity, the contrast. It's just an awesome landscape. Thanks for sharing,
Best wishes, Matt

Well I have to say Stephen that this too is another fine photo that deserves much more than one dark green smile. i think I need a nice wide angle lens. But this place seems to call for it with its wide sweeping views. The ability to see far across this valley is also amazing. It is also nice and sharp. If you used USM you have done it well. Nice work.

One more ineresting picture from this beautiful place. This tower really looks like Independence Monument! Excellent DOF and classical Utah's colours. I like these diagonal composition with grass and bushes on the foreground and clounds over the mountains. Great shot.
Thanks for share.
john_c (24662) 2005-04-14 2:43
Very effective shot, Stephen. The colours are natural and there are interesting little shadow effects. The tufts of grass in the foreground are a nice effect, lending softness to an otherwise harsh environment. Very pleasing to the eye.

You offer us another excellent shot of CNM! You took this photograph as well as the others posted on TE. I like your wideangle views, the blue sky and the horizon who is giving a lot of depth. Congrats again!

Another very impressive shot of a wonderful place. The feeling of wide open space is well captured. I like the texture and movement of the small bushes below. It is as if it is flowing down from the rocky mountain. Congratulations!! Thanks and regards.

Again here a wide and far reaching view with great clarity and colors, the subject may be centered but imo it accentuates its rising character and also shows well how it is surrounded by the cliffs.
Have a nice day,

Another very good shot from this grand place, Steve. Nice vantage point, seemingly endless DOF, and impeccable sharpness. The fully natural look of the colors is also greatly appreciated. Nothing negative to say about this one, good job.
I'm eager to see you start sharing some of your D70 photos.
Steft (5975) 2005-04-14 13:10
Very nice photo of you again! This time, the horizon is not too sharp. The colours are good and you have again a nice blue sky which is decorated with some nice white clouds. Is the photo not a bit tilt to the right?

Cher ami Stephen,
