I visited this place just south of Grand Junction, Colorado. It could best be described as a mini Grand Canyon. I found it very worthwhile to visit because there are very few people there and just as impressive. I liked the smaller size of the canyon because it wasn't so overwhelming and it was much easier to see much of the area in one day.
This is looking up one of the canyons. You can see the striation occurring in the layers of rock. If you follow the colors of the rock around the canyon walls you can see how the open area in front of us has eroded away.
If you want to see what this place looks like with satellite imagery you can visit Google here: Google. You can zoom in and out and pan around as well.
I took this shot around noon.

Very nice shadows, great place to shoot from..and I love the placement of these rocks as a lead into the great canyon.. A fine piece of work. I wonder what this one look like in Black and white.

A magnificent vista you have captured here, Steve. I especially like your POV and also the sharpness of the shot without a touch of gaininess or noise. The shadows play well, and the touch of lush greenery in the right foreground lends a nice contrast to the harshness below. Very well done. Regards.

Beautiful landscape, is the atmosphere usually this clear? I have never been in the area and would imagine more haze in the air. The clouds create a pleasant contrast and the polarizer did its job well. There are some artifacts along the horizon, maybe due to post-processing, maybe it’s just the downscaling of the jpeg file.

A very nice shot of a beautiful scenery. I like how the clouds harmonized with the rocks. This is captured at the right time as the shadows bring out the shape and form of the rocks effectively. Great shot!! Regards.

Nice view! Beautiful colours of the rocks and the sky. A green bush in the right corner adds a depth to the composition. I traveled dozen times in the Southwest but I've never been there...
Thanks for share and for useful information. Hope to see this place later.

Here we go with another fine shot! You offer us a splendid wideangle view of a really gorgeous landscape. Composition, POV are perfect - colours might be a little bright and could be saturated..?! The satellite images of this region are a nice add-on.

Wow, Steve, Another magnificent Steve’s Style of view. We can see the entire canyon. A great POV. It is smaller than grand canyon, it is still a huge canyon. You have done a great job in advertising this place. I think I will try to arrange a trip to cover this place.
The blue sky and the green dots in the canyon makes a significant comparison to the red rock canyon. An excellent job. Well done.

Another great one, has your clarity trade mark on it, superb depth and nice colors, though not as eclatant as around sunset time, but comparing the different shots, we can get an idea of the changes as the day goes.
Have a nice day,

Brilliant photo with a great view on this "mini Grand Canyon". The colours are bright and look very natural and contrasts are great because of the shadows. The blue, cloudy sky is very nice. It is maybe a little bit too sharp, especially by the horizon where the sky starts. Apart from that: great work!

Excellent landscape picture with great depth and colours. The clarity is stunning!! Impressive place, wonderful sky!! Superb shot!

Fabulous scenery, Steve. Great vantage point you found to include the pinnacles (plus associated shadows) at the foreground right - they are an essential element for the sense of depth that is built in this photo. Great sharpness and almost infinite DOF, another well-made landscape for your scenic album.

wow, The lights and exposure for this one are really good, and well contrasted. you are almost shooting against the sun, as it appears from the shadows, but magically well exposed. I like it a lot.

This post is a great one of your great and usual excelent contribution to nature, mountain and "Earth" views that generally you see rarely in Television or magazines. I think that your camera and you are great in both!
Really you capture very nice and beautiful nature sceneries with a great insight and flexibility. So my votes of your also complementary work and vision, and see you tomorrow for update.
Great composition and work!!!
Possible I WILL go to my branch with the 7070WZ with UV filter and Polarizer, but I also mantain the great UZ from 770. As I said to you, I like but I think for my normal work this option will be good. However if you have a additional and friendly opinion tell me, I will respect.
