This is another shot from that morning when I snuck into the park before dawn. This is the setting full moon shortly before after summer solstice. It was about 20 minutes before sunrise, but the high clouds were already catching the earliest rays of the sun turning them first a shocking magenta and then the subtle pink of this image. This is the one of two times during the year when the sunrise and moonset are exactly the same time.

Stunning shot and well worth the effort. It is well composed with the layering from the foreground grasses, past the high clouds, toward the moon itself all encompassed by the towering rock formations that fooled me into thinking this was the southwest. Besides the composition, it is the natural coloring that I find most compelling. Superb summer solstice shot, Hubert!

I like the composition and the colours in the rocks is great.
the low clouds add to the beauty and the Moon, as a reflector spoting the scence is the cherry on top
very nice pic
