St. Vrain River Canyon.
West of Lyons Colorado on Colorado Highway 7.
Yesterday I decided to take my camera, my grading, and the dog down to the St. Vrain river canyon and just hang out and grade and take some pictures. It was incredibly windy along most of the front range but down in my favorite stop off along this canyon it was really nice deep down among the rocks.
Late in the afternoon there some nice hues in the water reflected off the glow of the canyon walls.
I had a silly time (I am no good at physics) getting the tripod up here between these rocks along the river luckily I, the dog, & the camera all survived.

Simple view, yet very interesting and beautiful.
I like the use of the little colour present and the way you have managed to give it a nice blend.
The flowing water makes for small yet good element of action.
Thank ou for sharing.

Hi there John,
Nice shot again, simple, not to many different elements, which works well here. I like the path of water curving through the image, it's inviting to follow it with the eyes. So you have chosen a good POV to set up the tripod and camera.
The longer exposure nicely gives the shot more dynamics, well done.
The sharpness of the rocks are good. Like the small warm reflection of light on the right side, just wished it showed up on more of the rocks.

Hi John, love the motion in the water. I can why you needed a tripod, I second hand held exposures while not losing the dog are not easy. The F20 has given you good depth.

Hi John, A very good one, the stones look good the water looks good what more can you ask for? Tripod hmm yes I know what you mean, I want someone to invent one that is automatic, just push a button and its ready all adjusted to suit the ground.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

This is a good one too. Wonderful soft texture on the rock and beautiful low shutter speed effect on the flowing water. Latiff.
