The Great Sand Dunes National Park near Alamosa, CO is one of my favorite places to visit, and I'm lucky enough to be within a four-hour drive of it. The dunes are massive (up to 750 feet tall), and it's fun merely to climb around on them, much less take photos. The color and shadows change noticeably throughout the day, so it's always interesting seeing how the photos will turn out. Hope you like it!

I Like this simple composition. Some one else might feels this lacks a central object.... like a glass of ice tea or even a pair of shoes on the bottom of the frame. Good job !

Hi Essie, very beautiful picture. Nice combination of shadows and light with good natural colours. Amazing place.... Chau chau,

One of my favourite places in America. I like the smooth look all over with a nice composition and natural colours. A polarizer would have kept some more detail in the sky but I like the shot nonetheless. Regards

Hello Essie! I do another one :))) Lucky you to live so close (okay for Swiss standards it seems far) to places like this one and I guess I would return at different seasons and do pictures throughout the day from morning till night. What a top location, spectacular. Love your long view over these sand hills with the dark clouds in the back, an approaching thunder storm maybe. Very good work ... Barbara.
