The largest dunes in North America are in Colorado. Walk into the 20-square-mile dunes and you're surrounded by a frozen sea of giant waves of sand. The tallest are 700 feet. Summer is too hot, winter is too cold. But come in fall when the air is crisp and clear and it's surrreal.

Beautiful shot! I really like the texture of the surface of the dune. The rippled surface is so interesting, so tactile, that I feel like I can reach out and touch it. One thing that is amazing is the way the ripples get smaller and smaller until they disappear. Also, I never even knew there were dunes in Colorado, so I may have to visit this place. Excellent work!

What a wonderful shot. Great composition with the top of the dune off centre and the moon to counterbalance.
