The Easy Way, a photo from Colorado, West

Photographer's Note

Due to the rather compact nature of our trip out West, we decided we simply didn't have time to go into Rocky Mountain National Park - a shame, but an unfortunate necessity. We did, however, want to get into the mountains a bit, so we decided to drive as far as the gate to the park, in Estes Park, Colorado, then look around a bit there before heading back into Denver. We lucked out, as along the road, before entering the park at all, we came upon this herd of elk wandering by a campsite literally feet from a state road. They grazed along the fence before moving on through the yards of neighboring houses and then disappearing into the trees.

What a lovely panoramic view about these area with the animals in foreground.

Yes, this was definitivly worth a visit. Great scenery with the distant mountains in the mist and the deer in the foreground.
I bet this must look amazing in autumn.

hello Andrew,
you may not have gone into the park but you are on its doorstep here and we get a view of the distant Rockies.The elk in the fg are a great for a composition that leaves us in no doubt about what part of the world we are in.I like the layered effect of elk & fence, trees & houses then the mountains beyond.
