Photographer’s Note

"Colorado State Capitol Building, at the western edge of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Located in the City and County of Denver, Colorado, the Capitol Hill neighborhood is bounded by the major arteries of Broadway, Downing Street, Colfax Avenue, and Sixth Avenue, which carry large volumes of traffic around the neighborhood. Some consider the Cheesman Park neighborhood to be a part of the Capitol Hill neighborhood, but as defined by the city [1], Cheesman Park is a separate neighborhood. There is also a statistical neighborhood called North Capitol Hill, by the city of Denver, but identified in the minds of most city residents as Uptown. Colfax Avenue provides the border for both of these neighborhoods."

Hello Chris,
A nicely lit composition with good point of view making good use of the red steps to draw the viewer in. I like the warm autumnal tones of the foliage against the lovely sky. Very good sharpness.

Salut Chris,
Une photo automnale éclairée par un beau soleil. La végétation qui a déjà perdu pas mal de feuilles, laisse entrevoir l'imposant et majestueux édifice à la très belle architecture.
C'est du bon boulot mon Ami reporter ;o)

The "Golden Dome" that proves how wealthy Colorado has always been is a real "pearl" in Denver, a pretty modern and beautiful city!

Hi Chris.
Very striking and richly coloured shot, very carefully composed to get the lead-in effect of the curving steps. Great sky makes lovely combination with autumnal colours of the foliage, framing the building beautifully.

They seem to build the state capitol buildings on a hill, and your low POV emphasises the position. Good use of the steps to lead uphill and into the image. The light is quite harsh, but then you were in the mile high city where high altitude light seems even harsher. The autumn colours add a wonderful extra touch.

I have to agree with Oscar that the building is bit too bright at places in its lower part, for the rest I like the autumn impression delivered by this image and the fine blue sky.

The curve of the staircase is an asset to the composition. The trees are framing well the building of the Capitol. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the building. The picture is clear and sharp. The colors are enhanced by the light. Have a nice day.
