Mesa Verde is in the south west of Colorado. This view reminded me of the Blue Mountains near Sydney, Australia. I never uploaded before as the left of the film negative had been damaged by exposure to light. I've repaired it as best I could. I didnt really feel confident enough to use levels 2-3 years ago. Also taken looking almost directly into the sun, so I've added a little saturation, to compensate. But I really liked the composition here. Hope you do too.

certe scene sono dei regali che la natura ci fa.
Ottimo il POV che permette di spaziare su questo verde canyon.
Mi piace visivamente la linea dell'orizzonte che coincide con la parte alta ,piana, della pianura sovrastante,

I like the view here captured in tall frame. You must be close to that cliff when this shot was captured. The green terrace and distance of the trench creates good depth in the frame.

You have done well with a shot into the sun, the results are not always as good as you want!
I like the composition, too. The solid rock, in the f/g anchors the feet, before an almost death defying leap towards the cliffs; you have a created a great sense of depth.
Fine textural details and good use of contrasting light and shadows. There is only a hint of glare in the distant valley.
Have a good day,

Hello Chris ,
May be the quality is not perfect , but this is a superb view of this green canyon , so different of the famous Grand Canyon . Like the POV , and the inclusion of a large part of golden ground in the FG , providing contrast and sense of depth .

The spectacle is impressive. The vertical framing suited to describe the valley and the cliff. The photo is interesting and good quality. Bravo.
Have a nice day

gave a perfect total a simple but stunning shot. consists of simple straight colours. Great blue sky, exciting white BG, and yellow FG, outstanding green and effective natural framing of branches.

It is looking similar to the Blue mountains near Sydney. The point of view is sending my eye toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. It is also showing the details and colors of the cliffs. A good management of the strong light which does not hurt to much the output of the colors. Have a nice day.

well without your notes I would not have seen anything wrong with this shot. It is a great POV and such a beautiful mix of green shades. The fg detailing is attractive and gives a wonderful contrast to the view beyond.
Regards - Brian.

I like the color contrast between the yellow rock in the foreground and green lush on the cliffs. It looks very scenic. I like the texture, lighting, colors and depth. Vertical framing suits well here.

this is an amazing view. I like very much the colours of this lovely composition and the fantastic depth of the view. The strong light ahrad is managed skillfully and doesn't impair the clarity at all. I also like very much the blue glow round the curve at deepest point of the view. Well done!
All the best,

Hi Chris, Nice view of the mesa Verde. After all repairs it looks very nice. Pleasant POV selected, nice colours. But where are the dwellings? Difficult to imagine that the people built their houses in the rocks. Fine composition.

You know even before reading your note I thought that these cliffs reminded me alot of the Blue Mountains and Great Dividing Range here in Australia. Great minds think alike as they say. Excellent vertical format to show the variety of colours and textures. The landscape seems endless, and so very untouched. Just like our beloved Oz. Great shot, thanks for sharing.
Have a lovely day

It looks some strange for me. I thought the Four Corners's States have similar canyons, but it looks so green after the Grand Canyon. Thanks for this interesting post, something new for me. Best! Serghei
