God's Garden Photo

Photographer’s Note

Though located in the middle of the continent this area was once an ancient sea. Later mountains formed and pushed up the sea bottom exposing the sandstone sea bed which was later worn down by wind and rain to create this unique American park of today.
I have many photos of the 'Garden of the Gods' but this is the only one that looks down instead of up. This photo was taken at sunrise with the light on my back from a frightfully precarious postion on a tiny ledge. I scrambled up the back of this sandstone godess by way of little known steep rocky trail and captured this bird's eye view. I hope you enjoy it. --Keith

Nice birds view. Being a COS resident, I never able to see this angle in my many visits to GOG park. This red sandstone will get more drama during early morning and evening sun.

Nice shot you have here, the colours are working well with the red and green. Your high position allowed you to capture the road which is a nice element here.

Your timing is great with the morning sun on the rock as well.

Hi Keith. The framing and the colors of this one really grab my attention. I have visited this place quite a few years ago, and it is a gorgeous area. I like the birds eye view presented here, and the graphical approach with the trails winding through the trees.

You have a great photo of the Garden of the Gods. Your point od view is fantastic with the deep reds of the rock formations, the rich greens of the juniper trees, and the perspective showing the trails. Beautiful photo.
