Photographer’s Note
This tunnel is the passageway from outside to the infield of the "velodrome", which is a fancy word for bicycle track. I had just taken some portraits of this rider with his bike and got a grab shot as he walked towards the infield stairs.
I was in Colorado for the Sports Photography workshop run by Rick Clarkson. His collection of workshops is called Photography at the Summit and of all the workshops he offers the sports is the most popular.

Hi Gregory,
Well you once again have something to show for your "Tunnel Vision" photograph, it may not be $1500.00 but I think it definitly deserves 2 point on TE. I think your composition and control of the lighting is spot on.
If you ever want to trade professions, look me up.
I wouldn't mind photographing baseball games, sounds like a pretty good gig.
Take Care,
Spiros

wow, it evades me how this photo did not get the 60-80 points that it deserves! beautiful, not for anything but for its sheer simplicity. colors are natural, sharpness is perfect. thanks for sharing.

Well i can see straight away why the publisher went for it - lots of possibilities for text and/or a strong image in its own right - great colour and contrast holding the outside area really well down such a long tunnel with such strong light ...it's a shame about the unsightly ghosting around the figure for this web shared version but this is not uncommon with such strong backlit images/silhouettes - even without sharpening....a really good compositional catch........well sold!!
best wishes Kev

hi gregory
i can see why you got paid for this one. two things that i really like about this shot:
1) the control of the light at the end of the tunnel. not too bright and a great focal point for the viewer which draws me to the cyclist.
2) the patterns on the wall of the tunnel.
yet again, simple composition that works very well. there's quite a lot i can learn by looking at and studying your shots, so thanks.
