Photographer’s Note
A bit of an abstract of a tree and a rock. Nothing serious but I wanted to choose something from my home country for this, our independance day.
I like the way that the tree and the rock both flatten out to the appearance of deep veins, almost an inverted view of each other, existing side by side. So it is with people - or at least, we can hope.

Hi Clift, happy independance Day!
It's very well realized, thanks to the shade that etches all the branches/veins of the tree against the rocky outcrop behind. Perfect use of light, and B&W is the only medium that could bring it out so expressively. Bravo!

The relationship between the rock and the tree is very beautiful - as if one has grown to reflect the other - the line from bottom left started by the tree and continued in the rock to top right is a great compositional element - nice image and happy Independance Day!
out of smiles today!
