Photographer’s Note
This is a slight a change of pace for me. I thought it would be humorous to post this shot. Hey if you spent $26 on a ticket for the Cog Railway (the worlds highest!) you'd post this shot too! The Cog Railway goes from Manitou Springs (6571 ft) to the very summit of Pikes Peak. It took quite a bit of patience just to get the platform free of people taking pictures in front of the sign. If they had the sign facing the other direction you'd have the 14,110 ft view of the Rockies and Colorado Springs instead of the nice warm gift shop. Nwoehnl reminded me of how little air there is to breathe up there. I did a walk around the top and if you go fast at all you will be out of breath, it's a unique feeling for sure.
Photoshop note: I used the clone brush tool to fix some peeling paint on the rust colored metal skirt along the roof.

Hi Stephen, An excellent repairing work. We should send you back to the peak to fix the paint there :)
In stead of taking train, I drove up to that peak a few years ago. There were two checkup stations to make sure our break-pads were no over-heated. The driving efforts were no less than your $26 ticket.
I like to take picture on signs also, sometime. It saves me all efforts of taking notes. Funny or not, today, I also posted a picture with bunch of signs, a photo I took in Maine.
Good job, keep posting.

Yeah, good idea to post this one. I like the colours. Maybe you could have cropped the right part a little bit more?
Well done anyway!

Bonjour Stephen,
Je remarque que le prix du billet vous a coupé le souffle et que la hauteur n'a pas arrangé les choses pour la respiration.
Image amusante et très bien cadrée.
Quand on pense au paysage alentour, cela doit être merveilleux.
Amitiés.

Hi Stephen,
A photo that could serve as a good introduction to your series if you group them in a travelogue, good focus, nice colors and restoration. I'm wondering whether you have some pics of the train ? I love trains...
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Ah, now we get some more details of the place. I like to see this part of Pikes Peak too. It completes the story.
Good picture.

A very sharp and clear image here Stephen, lovely propaganda for the tourists, but much to cold for my and much to high, with my bike cycle and on it flat country.
Very nice seen!
John.

Yes, you're right Stephen to have such a clear photo of the sign is an act of patience, but it was worth the wait. A nice crisp shot that falls more into the "documentary" type of category, and makes a nice complement to your earlier photo from the summit.
