During my visit to the Garden of the Gods last summer, one of my last stops was by Ute Trail. This lady was painting the landscape from the trail. I asked her if I could photograph her and she replied that she did not mind at all. After we exchanged a few words, it started to rain. Her response to the rain was, "You should probably seek shelter but I've got to finish my sketch." She just put her hood up and continued working.
Geçen yaz Tanrıların Bahçesine ziyaretim sırasında, benim son duraklarımdan biri Ute Patikasıydı. Bu bayan patikadan manzarayı çiziyordu. Ona fotoğrafını çekebilir miyin diye sordum ve o hiç aldırmayacağını yanıtladı. Biz birkaç laf ettikten sonra, yağmur yağmaya başladı. Yağmura onun yanıtı, "Muhtemelen senin sığınman gerekir ama benim taslağımı bitirmem lazım" oldu. O sadece kukuletasını kaldırdı ve çalışmaya devam etti.

Merhaba Murat bey,
It's always a pleasure to see a photo of an artist, her work, and the subject (the landscape). I remember attending a wedding just a few miles away in a historic hotel. A highlight of the weekend was a visit to the rugged stone formation illuminated by early morning sunlight.
Have a good Sunday,

Nicely combined the two subjects, Murat, the landscape and the lady-painter.
The cone-shaped rock is impressive and dominationg the scene, but not unusual for the area.
Well managed the mild light under the grey sky.
have a nice sunday,

Always a good idea to capture an artist at work and at the same time include her motive. She has indeed found a very fine motive with this very special rock. An interesting note too, I hope she was not working with water colours!

Yes, some people are really dedicated to what they are doing. But aren't we photographers often the same? I can remember more than one situation where I was braving the elements just for this one shot ...
You did put the painter nicely in context with the subject she is painting and thus you bring the negative space and your subject nicely together.
have a great sunday

You tell us an amusing story with this fine photo. You placed the artist very well in the composition and the scenery certainly seems to be worth a painting. That's a very nicely shaped rock towards the left side. I would imagine her painting might have been damaged by the rain.

Gotta' love the devotion, yeah? Rain or shine, the work must go on...just hope it wasn't watercolor, otherwise it would have been completely pointless to stay out in the rain!? Hard to wrong when we can catch another artist at work, it really fuses our worlds together into one image...and you've composed this in a way which gives a strong idea of her subject matter. The heavy clouds give the sense of impending doom, and the earthy colors make for wonderful contrast. Nicely done to bring the two main features together. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Take it easy.
Thanks for providing that "texting lady' link, I hadn't seen that before...rather amusing. :)

very nice landscape with that peak of stone and the painter well positioned. I would like to include her feet. anyway the image is very beautiful and there is a dialogue between personage and landscape. maybe I will visit this place this year..

The distance between the painter and the rock is giving depth to the composition. You have captured well the action of the painter. The point of view is showing the details and the colours of the scenery. Have a nice day.

very funny situation indeed. Quite unexpected. I wonder if the sketch was damaged by the rain or not. At least it was shortly captured in your photo to preserve it forever.
Good idea to have the painter as a foreground,
