Photographer’s Note

I'm calling this picture "Contrast" because just a few weeks ago, I was out admiring the beautiful autumn foliage. Yesterday, we were surprised with our first snow of the season, with the arrival of quite a few inches of snow. It came a bit early this year (normally it occurs near Halloween on 31 Oct). Although it went as fast as it came (it melted by midday today), it was beautiful while it lasted. I guess that's typical weather in Colorado--unpredictable. If only I had the day off to capture more pictures.

Post Processing: Autolevels, Cropped just a little off the left, USM, and Framed.

Very nice composition here. The branches covered with snow are a nice subject and the constrast with the blue sky is perfect. Good perspective.

Simple but powerful :) Yes, the contrast between the blue sky and the snow is impressive, really well captured. I really like the choise you made to compose the image, letting some space on the left.

This a nice study in blue and white. The shapes of the branches are very pleasing, and there is enough of the wonderful blue sky to balance the white and black. Good depth of field and sharpness. The exposure is just right - and it is difficult to get the right exposure when photographing snow.

Hi Amber, after seing some of your last uploads there on TE, i can say you are pretty good in subject isolation and minimalism, this one is the perfect exemple of it.
I like it a lot, white against blue works very well here, congratulations
