Photographer’s Note
While taking a walk around Boulder, I found this barn near a lake. I thought it looked really nice surrounded by the fall foliage.

The barn fits into this autumn foliage perfectly. And rustic describes the place perfectly. It's so ramshackle but still in an apparently sturdy condition. The wood shows a lot of age. And then the leaves are a complement to that as they fill the path and the grass. As much as I like the leaves on trees in fall I like them even more, I think, when they are on the ground like this, too. It creates an overall golden aura in this case. Perhaps the image could be worked on a bit in photoshop. Some dodging or contrast and brightness to make it brighter would help. I'll have to try a workshop on it later on. The composition, though, is great. I can easily imagine a buggy going down this path. And I can also imagine it in winter with a foot or two of snow and bare trees.

The shot has so much character and the barn looks like with a bit of love and attention it would be a great place to live. I like the use of the trees to provide a natural frame.
