Sometimes nature itself intervenes and forces experimentation. I had always had this grove of aspens on my autumn check list but I had forgotten how tall they were .. the gold leaves were either on the forest floor or way above me ..

Again this beautiful trees! You are right when you´ve shoot it more than one time! The trees are beautiful and the autumn colours from North America are just great. I like the vertical framing showing how high are those trees. The lights and shadows are beautiful. Excellent exposition overall!

Hi John, here we can see the majesty of the trees, the wonderful blue sky-background helps very good to have the golden color of the leaves so nice.
Have a nice Sunday.
balatrek (7455) 2007-10-07 12:05
Interesting perspective, the point of view under has created a great visual effect, perfect control of the light, the colors of the Autumn of the trees create very beautiful contrasts with the sky, an excellent result.

I like this image even better than the last one, and that one was superb. The brilliant blue of the sky, agains the early autumn colors of the leaves, the perspective reaching to the sky -- Sensational shot.
gunbud (34066) 2007-10-07 21:08
Yellow and blue sing a complimentary song as we peer up at this dwindling canopy over the Rocky Mountains.
pablominto (53744) 2007-10-08 1:42
Aspens are probably the best autumn trees of all?
This is an interesting framing, using the great blue sky as an effective background for the yellow leaves...
Good lines and fine dynamics in the composition, attractive colour palette!

The towering trembling aspens contrast perfectly with the sky. I like the depth one can achieve in shots like this by looking toward the sky. Good clarity of detail and very fine lighting. A celebration of the best season of the year. Cheers, John.

A very nice ceiling of trees, with excellent sharpness and very god colors, including that of the sky between the branches. The combination between the light and the discrete shadow provide a lot of depth to the trees.
All the best,

stego (23096) 2007-10-11 11:56
Gorgeous! It may be classical, but absolutely wonderful. It's amazing how there is not a bit of OE or UE. You are a real master already!
With such views, I almost understand the fascination that Autumn had on so many people. For me it is almost a depressing time.
marioana (2256) 2007-10-13 9:07

This is perfect in vertical format..gives that special sense of the height of the trees. Amazing contrast between the yellow leaves & the blue sky..add to that the effect of the converging lines of the tree trunks. Wonderful!

i always loved autumn. trees have always been a beauty to foto especailly this part of the year, they look fragile but strong and pretty. the lighting is perfect.
Hellas (6757) 2010-12-21 0:10
Hope my note finds you and yours well.
I love the color of the leaves of the trees and the contrast with the deep blue colour of sky. The shades embellish the composition and management of light is admittedly pretty good.
