Lower Copeland Spring
Lower Copeland Falls - Wild Basin Area - Rocky Mountain National Park
Whenever we visit Copeland falls Andrew and I love to scramble down the hill and get up close to this small but powerful cascade in the thick dark woods of the Wild Basin area. As I mentioned in my last post .. one of my check list items this year was to get here with my new filter this time of year when the flow would be strongest due to the snow melt.
This is one my favorite intimate spots in Rocky Mountain National Park .. it is only a short 0.3 mile walk from the trailhead if you are quick enough to get here before the popular trailhead lot fills .. It can easily be an extra mile from your parking pl

Great shot. You really captured the water well. The longer shutter speed is really effective. Bravo.

your favorite spot is wonderful. Two seconds were enough to demonstrate the water's movement. This image is a dark one but the main subject is so bright. Thank you. My warmest wishes,

Waterfalls, waterfalls. You surely have a good set of collection on these falls. I like this picture a lot as the water flow is so strong and nice. I did a little workshop for you to brighten up the photo a little. Hope you like it.

Fantastic capture ... good use of slow exposure to capture water motion. Very good lateral lines in the background created by the trees. Well composed ... excellent work! tfs

I like it a lot John,
the freesing water by speed, good point of view, nice waterfall, good quality shot, well done.

Ther is an atmosphere in this one.
I like the desaturated look of the image, and of course the water texture is superb.

Hi John, it gives an interesting effect, I can also hear the noise of the water. -:)

une fois que l'on a trouvé les trucs et les bons filtres, on arrive à faire ces superbes filés avec ces effets de brumes aussi. Une photo qui manque juste un peu de couleurs.

This is a beautiful photo, John.
The 'soft silky texture' of the waterfall has a magical feel about it.
It contrasts perfectly with the sharp detail in the overhanging tree branches.

Again, the water is fabulous, like a beautiful dream. Very well framed.

Very dramatic scene with the turbulent water cascading out of the dark woods. Wonderful slow exposure gives this image a dreamy feel.

Great long exposure shot, there seems to be some blue noise in the trees but the flow of water is very impressive.
