Nevada Falls is in the lower right, and the large granitic dome formation to its' left is called Liberty Cap. (Half Dome would be to its' far left, and Mt. Broderick is directly to its' left partially hidden by the trees). There was still a small amount of snow in the lower right corner which was a welcome relief along the trail as it was 87F. degrees that day. Nevada Falls is at the 6,900 ft. elevation level and is along the Panoramic Trail where the Mist Trail, and Half Dome Trail and John Muir trail joins it.
The Panoramic trail is a 3,200 ft.(975k.) descent.
Nevada fall is 594 ft. high. The hike from the valley floor to this waterfall is considered strenuous as there is a very steep, rocky stairway to the top but one is awarded magnificent views at the top. the fall flows into the Merced River. Also, Nevada means 'snowy' in Spanish.

I think this is balanced and sharp. Thank you for a very useful note.
The clouds on the top look a little unusual in colour, I suppose this must be the CP effect.

Great vision, eagle's eye view, and a tough place to hike to for this vantage point. It has been many moons since I hiked the Panorama trail. Nowadays, I'm happy to make it up the Mist trail.
And I fine resolute, natural coloring, with shadow textures image of a spot many never see.
Congratulations on a fine art image,
your California Friend,
PS: Ironically, I'm packing and headed for Yosemite Valley today, as soon as I get off TE.

I defiantly take the John Muir trail up now unless there are excellent conditions for a really cool rainbow shoot up the mist trail. The DOF from this area is so rewarding and extremely beautiful, and you've captured it perfectly Karen. Love the color saturation and light management and with all superb clarity. Very sharp and crisp POV Karen, great job!!

this sight is spectacular, you have caught the immense natural beauty of the park in an effective and attractive composition, in which we can admire the waterfall in the middle of a universe of rocks, mountains, water and forests.
The clouds in the blue sky increase the aesthetic quality of the photo, which is perfectly illuminated and has a few beautiful colors.
A nice work.
