While walking through a parking lot in Yosemite Valley, near Curry Village, I spotted this beautiful antlered deer strolling around, totally unphased by the human element. In another moment, I saw just how unconcerned he was--as he answered nature's call right in front of onlookers.
Although the photo looks like it was taken in the wild with a super tele, it occurred just on the edge of the parking area, and I'm only a few feet away with a 100mm lens.

I find this refreshing. As a biology instructor, I am always in the look out for pictures like this to show my students - for shock and humor value mostly - and also for biological purposes. As for the photo itself, it is solid, but perhaps crop a little bit on top as there is little added information on the top area and distracts viewing of the deer (my eyes focus on the yellow leaves of the shrub instead of the animal) but I am just being nit picky. Thank you for showing this to us.

At the right place at the right time.
Really funny shot with a great title.
Fascinating that you where able to get so close that you could snap this with a 100mm.
Nice clear picture with good DOF.

And the picture could also go in the "daily life" category ;-)

Très originale comme photo, ce mâle irait bien avec ma femelle : le couple parfait ! Amusant
Very original photography, this male would be well with my female: the perfect couple! Amusing

This photo is hilarious! Right time, right moment! I love the deer's expression. Being only a few feet away, I hope you didn't get any of its backsplash!
This photo is similar to one that I took
(an elephant though)
Just Couldn't hold it!

As flip89 said, this is refreshing, wonderfully so. I find myself too often looking for that "postcard" moment. While postcard photos are often wonderful with stunning colors, majestic scenes, flawless exposure and sharpness they are also often easily overlookable in their perfection. They almost become fake like a glossy advertisement. This however, is as real as it gets. It shows a side of nature that isn't soft, fuzzy, and cute but still very much important.
