Photographer’s Note

Yosemite is so amazing. You get a wee bit used to the vertical amazingness of the place, then you turn another corner and . . . . . .

This was taken from just above Glacier Point, where I'd climbed up Sentinel Dome in the snow.

Half dome just looked so impressive from this viewpoint, especially realising I was just seeing the top half.

Hello Alastair,
beautiful composition, with these tree trunks on each side of the image, a little as a door of entry towards the paradise.
It must be a splendid adventure that of visited Yosemite, I hope to be able to do it one day. Only the thing which disturbs me, this is the stone on the roof of the car:)

lovely picture with good atmosphere.the yellow lines on the road leading the eye faraway to the mountain that was interesting.

I'm happy to see you go to yosemite too even if we didn't do the same trail. Answering you, you're right about peomple who died on falls, ranger's warn panel tell each year fatal accident happened.
Now about your picture, you got a good shot, with this part of road and this great view of half dome.
I think some people would think it's just a picture taken from car when driving but your title explain everything and people who visit Yosemite could easily understand: when we entered the park from west side, after a bend we could see the valley, i had see so much pictures before, but in real with my own eyes "WOW". That why i stop on your picture, more than a picture, it's a mental souvenir of something you will always remember........
