Photographer’s Note
Ribbon Falls on extreme zoom from 1,612 ft (491 meters) below. This is one of the highest falls in the world, but is hidden a bit & the trail to it is quite 'interesting' and steep, but a fabulous place.
This was taken from the foot of the falls of the water pouring over the lip, a real test of the camera's lens.
Apparently in summer this dries up completely.
We trekked up as part of a bachelor party and what an introduction to the Yosemite valley!
I'll probable post a more conventional view in the next few days.

Fabulous indeed, Alastair. I like the way you have cropped it at the top, and the sharp sunlit rocks on the left. A memorable picture.
Not surprisingly, here in Dunbar we are inundated with more conventional photos of these falls, for Dunbar is the birthplace of John Muir who made Yosemite famous.
