Photographer's Note

Yosemite's Mist Trail is the most popular and busiest hiking trail in the National Park. Start at the Happy Isles Nature Center near Camp Curry. This trail is also very wet in the spring and take rain gear and protection for your camera. The distance to the first waterfall - Vernal Falls is 1.3 kilometers and to the top of the second waterfall - Nevada is 5.5 kilometers.

This image is from inbetween Vernal and Nevada Falls. With the right sun condition, rainbows are a bonus from the Mist Trail. To avoid the wet Mist Trail take the John Muir Trail just beyond where the foot bridge crosses the Merced River to the right. It is possible to continue up stream to Half Dome, a distance of 11.3 kilometers. Both trails are closed in winter.
